Zimbabwe and Zambia have been challenged to strengthen ties in various fields that include economics and trade.

This was said by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira on Thursday in his opening remarks during the ongoing Mid-Term Review of the 18th Session of the Zimbabwe and Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation being held in Harare.

“There should be no tariff or non-tariff barriers that impede our economic and trade relations,” Prof Murwira said.

His Zambian counterpart, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe, echoed similar sentiments, saying Zambia and Zimbabwe shared strong historic ties.

Prof Murwira and Minister Haimbe are co-chairing the Mid Term Review.
