Zimbo shines on The Voice

Zimbabwean Josh Ansley gave an outstanding vocal performance to advance to the last 16 of South Africaa��s version of M-Neta��s The Voice competition after upstaging South Africaa��s Armand Joubert.

Ansleya��s performance earned him plaudits, with Channel24 crowning it the best of the qualifying round, tipping him to go all the way in this yeara��s competition.

Ansley will be groomed by singer-songwriter Bobby van Jaarsveld in the next round of the competition.

a�?Hands down, Josh was the showstopper of the round. His falsetto is on another level. Could the winner this season come from Team Bobby?a�? Channel24 said in its review.

Ansley made the last 16 of the competition which from next week Sunday the show will be broadcast live from the famous Mosaiek Teatro in Fairland, where many of the countrya��s top music icons have strut their stuff.

a�?This yeara��s live shows are going to be bigger and better,a�? says M-Neta��s Head of Publicity Lani Lombard.

She added that the four coaches had picked exceptional talent, and fans could therefore expect some quality entertainment before this yeara��s winner is announced.

For his performance, Ansley chose to give the fans and judges his own rendition of 4 Non Blondesa�� Whata��s Up.

a�?Josh. People need to hear you and that you have a spectacular voice. I have to go with my gut and my heart,a�? said Van Jaarsveld on announcing the winner.
