Zim’s funniest take on City of Kings

The four are Carl Joshua Ncube, Clive Chigubu, Cde Fatso and Ntando “Van” Moyo and the show will be held at Bulawayo Theatre on 31 August and 1 September starting at 6.30pm.

In a statement, the cultural manager of Alliance Francaise de Bulawayo, the facilitators of the event, Gilmore Moyo, said the show was a way to share culture and preserve it through comedy.

He said the show was an opportunity to counter stress that people face everyday.

“LMFAO is a modern culture, arts and heritage preservation and promotion show through the medium of comedy, performance arts and audio-visual technology. Forget the stresses, the power cuts, the water shortages and come and laugh your lungs out with four of the best comedians in the country,” said Moyo.

He said the show would give the audience time to reflect on their upbringing and culture in a comical artistic manner.

“This show is set to be the biggest and funniest stand-up comedy show of the year in Zimbabwe or any other year. The show will bring onto one stage, Bulawayo and Harare, Ndebele and Shona, white and black, ghetto and posh cultures, sharing and inter-acting with audiences from all sorts of backgrounds using the medium of stand-up comedy,” said Moyo.

He said stand-up comedy was a fast growing genre that people were appreciating as a form of art that could generate revenue.

“LMFAO is the biggest stand-up comedy show happening in Bulawayo featuring comedy kings and princes of Zimbabwe’s mushrooming comedy sector.

“The vision is to take this show to all 53 capital cities in Africa,” said Moyo.
