THE Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has extended the deadline for the 2022 examinations registration period.
This follows a public outcry over the limited time given to pay for the November public examinations.
Parents and guardians across the country lamented the short examination registration period and appealed for an extension.
ZIMSEC capitulated and announced a one-week extension to cater for students who failed to meet the July 29 deadline.
Registration has been extended to August 5.
“The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has opened a mop up payment and registration period which will run from Monday August 1 to Friday August 5, for candidates who failed to meet the July 29 deadline,” said ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini.
“Payments being made in Zimbabwe dollars are to be made using the rate of ZWL$488 to US$1.
“The US dollar and rand prices remain unchanged.”
Most parents and guardians complained about the short registration period for the 2022 Grade Seven, O-Level and A-Level examinations, which they said was not enough for them to raise the required amount.
