THE Zimbabwe National Development Association (ZNDA) which is aimed at promoting development among disadvantaged communities around Zimbabwe was officially launched on Thursday in Bulawayo.
The ZNDA is a non-profit organisation which is jointly implemented by 100 members who include lawyers, medical doctors, livestock doctors, university lecturers, farmers, miners and local leadership such as chiefs from all across Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the event the executive director, Themba Ncube said the organisation which has been running for three years was a collaborative initiative meant to enhance the quality of life in disadvantaged societies.
“The ZNDA was initiated in 2015 and is comprised of a group dedicated patriotic change makers dedicated to bring positive and transformation to Zimbabwean societies through various initiatives especially focusing on disadvantaged communities through the provision of free medical services, legal services, poverty alleviation programmes,” said Mr Ncube.
Ncube said the organisation has been assisting disadvantaged communities through various outreach programmes as well as donating to different institutes through the help of well wishers.
“The organisation has carried out a number of free medical outreach programmes in Umzingwane, Filabusi, Binga beitbridge, Ntabazinduna and Bubi. Our organisation partnered up with Dr Bearty an optician from the United States where we donated spectacles at Bubi Hospital and later we donated books to Elitsheni primary,” said Mr Ncube.
He said that the organisations’ works been part of its efforts to complement the Government’s emphasis on community development.
