THE Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association (ZUSA) games marked their return in style, with more than eight sports codes in a festival that started Thursday and ended yesterday at the University of Zimbabwe.

ZUSA president Tsitsi Muzuva said she was excited by the return of the competition after a two-year break caused by Covid-19.

“I am really excited that we have managed to hold the second cluster of the games after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “It was not easy to organise these games especially in these difficult times that we are living due to the global pandemic of the coronavirus, and it’s really exciting that we managed to organise the games, and the interesting thing is that … we have not recorded a case of Covid-19,” said Muzuva.

Thirteen universities from across the country participated. “It is really exciting that we are having both private and State-run universities coming together for the games. This shows how big this tournament is and, as president, I am happy with the turnout, which has almost 1 800 participants taking part at this year’s games.”
