He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Editor Mavuto said on Monday, the girl’s stepmother whom she was staying with together with her father went to Chegutu. She left the girl alone at their house when the father left for work.
The girl retired to bed at around 8pm.
When her father returned from work, he called the girl into his bedroom.
He locked the door from inside and ordered her to remove her clothes.
The girl refused, but was heavily assaulted, forcing her to remove her clothes.
The father raped her once.
The girl went to hospital to seek treatment and the matter was reported to the police.
