2012 Motorsport calendar released

THE Zimbabwe Motorsport Federation (ZMSF) have released their calendar of events for 2012 in which the top motor rallying event, the Toyota Zimbabwe Challenge Rally, will once again be the highlight of the year.
According to the 2012 ZMSF calendar, which was released yesterday by the federation’s competitions manager Rose Rushforth, the Toyota Zimbabwe Challenge Rally has been slated for the weekend of 16 to 18 March .

Nengomasha believes Chiefs can lift title

JOHANNESBURG—Tinashe Nengomasha says Kaizer Chiefs are well positioned to mount a strong challenge for the South African Premiership soccer title when the games resume in February.
The veteran Zimbabwean midfielder — who was part of the title-winning Kaizer Chiefs team of the 2004/05 season — says recent results show that the Naturena-based giants have now put behind their in-house problems.

Hardbody unfazed by verdict delay

HARDBODY chairman, Patrick Chikwanda yesterday said they were not losing sleep over the two-week appeal verdict delay despite the impact on next year’s planning.
In an interview ahead of today’s anticipated release of the verdict, Chikwanda said there was little they could do to expedite the release of the verdict but would remain patient until the Tim Sangarwe-led Zifa Appeals Committee released the outcome of the appeal.

New Japan coach aims for top 10 spot

Eddie Jones, who was on Monday named Japan’s new head coach, vowed to make the Brave Blossoms one of the world’s best rugby teams by the 2015 World Cup in England.
“Our target is to be in the top 10,” the 51-year-old Australian, who guided the Wallabies to the 2003 World Cup final, said as the Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) announced his appointment to the job for four years from next April.
