A MEDICAL doctor allegedly drugged and raped a patient at his surgery, a Harare magistrate heard yesterday.

The woman, who is an economics student at Africa University in Mutare, had consulted the doctor after suffering from stomach cramps and irregular menstrual periods.

The woman allegedly woke up briefly after being drugged to find Alfred Namsa committing the offence.
She then passed out again under the effects of the drug.
Namsa, who has a surgery at Fife Avenue Medical Centre, had earlier proposed love to the woman.
He reportedly offered her a lift home while asking for forgiveness.
The doctor was not formally charged when he appeared before regional magistrate Mr Rodgers
