Community Development Fund disbursement frozen until after polls
Harare BureauThere will be no more disbursement of funds from the Constituency Development Fund to legislators until harmonised elections are held.
Constitutional and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Eric Matinenga said that the funds would not be disbursed even if Finance Minister Tendai Biti makes a provision in the 2013 national budget.
“The current Parliament will be dissolved during the first quarter of 2013 and this means if Treasury sets aside an allocation for 2013 disbursements, they can only be done once there is a new Parliament,” he said in an interview on Tuesday.
