Young women artists to light up Hre skies

Young stars Ammara Brown, Patience Musa, and Adiona Maboreke will be lighting Harare skies at the popular Book Café tommorrow. Cynergy band led by renowned artist Bernie Bismack will back up the group. It will be a powerful line up of young women artists with great music performances, joining the conscious campaign against gender violence in the global ‘16 Days Campaign’.

Zanu-PF launches Annual People’s Conference theme

PREPARATIONS for the Zanu-PF 13th National People’s Conference to be held in Gweru next week have gathered momentum following the official launch yesterday of the conference theme at a site 10km outside the city along the Gweru-Kwekwe Highway.

The launch was witnessed by Zanu-PF party members and the national organising committee led by the party national chairperson, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo.

Traffic was briefly brought to a standstill as the group marched along the highway in the direction of Gweru City chanting the 2012 National People’s Conference theme: “Indigenise, Empower, Develop and Create Employment.”

The site of the theme launch was deliberate as it gives a visitor to the host city, Gweru a bird’s-eye view of the city.

MDC-T, MDC members defect

FORMER MDC-T campaign officer in South Africa and also the party’s chairman for Bulilima district, Mr Bhekimpilo Vundla, has defected to Zanu-PF.

Mr Vundla publicly denounced ties with the MDC-T and pledged loyalty to Zanu-PF during a rally that was held at Magabha area in Gwambe, Bulilima District.

Nine former MDC and MDC-T supporters who said they have realised that Zanu-PF was the only party with the aspirations of the people joined him.

Mr Vundla and the nine supporters were formally received by Politburo member Cde Richard Ndlovu and presented to scores of Zanu-PF supporters that came to witness the event.
