At least 300 delegates are expected to attend the Financing Zimbabwe Agriculture Forum focused at promoting the growth of Agriculture in the country to be held next month.
Deat Capital managing director Nicky Moyo, the organisers of the forum set for April 21 in Harare, said local regional and international participants were expected at the event.
“This forum will attract about 300 delegates with arrays of local, regional and international speakers who will speak on various topics and issues,” he said.
The key purpose of the conference is to bring in successful financiers to share their success stories in Agriculture.
He said during the forum, participants would tackle ways of creating an environment that would promote entrepreneurs and small farmers.
“It is essential to create the conditions for private entrepreneurs including small farmers to create successful businesses and gain easier access to markets,” said Moyo.
The forum presents a good opportunity for the participants to interact with relevant companies and potential investors to boost the agricultural sector.
“The creation of successful agribusinesses includes investing in the improvement of the private infrastructure such as roads, transportation, water and energy,” he said.
The forum is targeting representatives of key government ministries, commercial and small-scale farmers, international traders with agriculture commodities, producers and suppliers of agricultural products (seeds, fertilisers), producers and suppliers of farming equipment, agricultural machines banks and financial institutions and trade associations among others.
Moyo said participants would have an opportunity to exhibit their products and project ideas to financiers, investors and engage their views on how the agricultural sector can be improved.
“Those attending will meet key-decision makers and discuss priorities, long term strategies and result focused solutions and policies, examine opportunities for trade and investment financing in the agribusiness sector and explore technological innovation and mechanisation in enhancing agricultural productivity,” he said.
The forum would also help in promoting the role and importance of agriculture and agribusiness contributing to economic growth, development and food security in Zimbabwe and Africa.
