A NYANGA man who allegedly stabbed a fellow villager with a knife is currently battling for his life in the same hospital with his victim after he was severely beaten by a mob.

Patrick Chapandira (26) of Kafetu Village under Chief Saunyama allegedly stabbed Samuel Chitengu with an Okapi knife on the back in an unprovoked attack.

Chitengu managed to maintain a vice-grip hold on Chapandira while calling for help from fellow villagers.

Villagers came and meted mob justice on Chapandira who was seriously injured and was rushed to Nyanga District Hospital together with Chitengu where they are all admitted.

Nyanga magistrate, Mrs Constance Marutya remanded Chapandira who is facing attempted murder charges from his hospital bed in custody to July 26.
