BancABC to the rescue

There were problems on Thursday when Dynamos flew into Maputo for today’s Champions League first round, first leg tie against Liga Muculmana.
The Mozambican team decided to go against tradition and, instead of catering for everything related to the Glamour Boys’ stay in Maputo, advised the Harare giants that they would have to meet the costs of their food and drinks.
All that Liga Muculmana were prepared to do was underwrite the costs of Dynamos’ accommodation at the three-star Hotel Africa, owned by the team’s vice-president.
Although the Mozambicans changed the tune yesterday and decided to provide food and drinks for the Dynamos delegation, the meals were not being taken at the hotel but at a different restaurant.
Yesterday, BancABC intervened and announced that they will foot the cost of all the meals and drinks for the DeMbare delegation.
“From now onwards until they leave Mozambique, the Dynamos players and officials who are on tour in Mozambique will have their meals at the Avenida Hotel,” BancABC executive, Desmund “Dezola” Ali, said yesterday.
“All the costs of the meals will be paid for by           BancABC because we felt, as their principal              sponsors, we had a responsibility to help them when they face challenges like the ones they faced in Maputo.
“The Avenida is one of the top hotels in Mozambique and we believe that the Dynamos delegation will get proper food that will help them remain focused on the big task at hand.”
Opened in 1998, the Avenida is a five-star hotel with 10 floors, 143 standard rooms, seven executive rooms, seven suites and a presidential suite.
