Bazooker challenges chanters

Yemurai Dyakonda

TALENTED Zim dancehall chanter, Bazooker, reckons lack of creativity and innovation is destroying the genre.

The singer, who started off as a rapper before joining Zim dancehall, said it was high time fellow artists work hard and forge alliances with artists in other genres.

“I am one such artist who is worried by the lack of innovation among Zim dancehall artists.

“This lack of creativity is killing our genre.

“Without doubt, Zimdancehall is one of the biggest genres that has the potential to employ many people but it is taken as a joke,” said Bazooker.

The chanter added:

“I am currently working on an EP that I hope will put Zimdancehall on the map again.

“I will collaborate with some artists and I will announce the release date at the end of July.

“I think Zim dancehall is dying because most artists do not have promoters and I am hoping we will get back on the charts soon.”
