A Beitbridge man was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on Thursday for unlawful possession of 60kg of dagga.
James Vengesai (43) was arrested on Tuesday along with his accomplices Dumisani Francis Moyo (42) and Peter Matimba (35).
The trio appeared before a Beitbridge Regional magistrate on Thursday.
Vengesai was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while his accomplices were acquitted.
Meanwhile, police detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics section in Harare arrested Memory Mukwasani (33) for illegal possession of dagga.
Mukwasani was arrested on Monday following a tip-off.
It is alleged that police detectives trailed a foreign-registered bus to a house along Arcturus Road, Highlands, where groceries were being offloaded into a DAF truck.
Upon searching the vehicles, the detectives recovered 59.5kg of dagga, leading to Mukwasani’s arrest.
