NGEZI Platinum boss, Benjan Mwaruwari, believes if they can get their attack firing, and scoring goals, their dreams can come true.
Despite a slow start in the Castle Lager Premiership, the Undertaker has been praised for going against the grain and refusing to invest in players who have been around for a long time.
He has been preferring to elevate the youngsters into his team.
The former Warriors’s captain has been trusting players from the club’s Under-19 side and a section of fans believes it’s a gamble which might cost him his job.
“You know sometimes when things are not going according to the plan, you have to keep on trying, no situation lasts forever,” said Benjani.
“We are trying to motivate the boys and give them a chance to showcase what they are capable of doing.
“Of course, it hasn’t been easy.
“We are paying the price of transition, it sometimes takes time to get you where you want to be, but the good thing is that the boys are progressing gradually.”
FC Platinum have already taken such a route and coach Norman Mapeza seems to be finding his grip following a trying start with his youngsters.
There was a point when analysts had counted Mapeza’s men out of the championship race.
But, the champions are now just a point off the mark Benjani acknowledged his strike force has been the weak link.
The club’s leading scorer, Delic Murimba, has so far bagged four goals, as opposed to keeper, Nelson Chadya who has accumulated nine clean sheets.
“Yes, our attack has been the major talking point, we have not been that sharp,” he said.
“It’s an area of concern and we are working every day but I’m sure the second half of the season will present a big change of fortunes.
“If we can start to get those goals, I’m sure a top four target will be attainable with ease.”
Recently, he told H-Metro his intention of registering Last Jesi.
Junior Zindoga, a highly-rated striker, is also believed to be back at Ngezi.
The club also highlighted that more three youngsters are set to be promoted when the window opens.
Midfielder, Wellington Taderera, is reportedly on his way out, a return to Black Rhinos is on the cards.
