ZIMBABWE’S cricket sensation Brian Bennett is flying the flag high after being nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September, putting him in elite company with India’s Kuldeep Yadav and Abhishek Sharma.

The 21-year-old batting prodigy has been in sizzling form, smashing 497 runs in nine T20Is at an average of 55.22 and a strike rate of 165.66.

From Sri Lanka to Namibia, Bennett has been the man with the golden bat, lighting up the crease with fearless hitting and ice-cool composure.

He then carried his red-hot form into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, where he made scores of 72, 65 and a blazing 111 in his first three innings, helping Zimbabwe seal their ticket to the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Cricket fans are beaming with pride as Bennett’s name joins the world stage, a testament to his rise as one of Zimbabwe’s brightest young stars.
“His consistency with the bat and clean hitting were vital as Zimbabwe secured qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup,” noted the ICC statement announcing his nomination.

The race is now on for fans to cast their votes before Wednesday next week, when the winner will be crowned.

With form like this, Bennett is batting for glory and for Zimbabwe’s spot among cricket’s giants.
