BIDFA promoting football in Mat North

THE Binga District Football Association (BIDFA) a�� a newly formed entity to regularise football operations in the district a�� will hold promotional playoffs for the club that will gain promotion into the Matabeleland North Province Division Two league.

BIDFA was formed at the beginning of the year and consists of teams dotted around Binga district which is divided into the northern and southern regions.

Each region has seven football clubs.

The top three teams from the northern region Nabusenga Red Bombers, Siabuwa Warriors and Sinakoma United will meet their southern region counterparts Lunda FC, Siansali and Lubu Giants to battle it out in a mini league in promotional playoffs at Manjolo Business Centre in Binga on the weekend of 29 to 30 October.

The winner will represent Binga district in the Matabeleland North Division Two league next season.

a�?The football administrators approached us at the beginning of the year with a proposal to form a league of their own in Binga and we assisted them set up structures. Their league program has come to an end and they have decided to hold promotional playoffs at the end of the month.

a�?The Binga District Football Association is a relatively new and small organisation but with the proper guidance it will assist in the growth of football in the area,a�? said Matabeleland North Province Division Two league chairman Dennis Tshuma.

BIDFA is self sustained with financial assistance coming from the business community in the district.

Meanwhile, action continues this weekend in the Zifa Southern Region with the top two teams in tricky away fixtures. On Saturday second placed Bulawayo Chiefs travel to Zimbabwe Republic Police owned Black Boots at Fair Bridge with log leaders make their way to Victoria Falls Tigers on Sunday.

Coaches from the two top sides understand there is no room for mistakes with five matches left before the end of the season.

a�?We cana��t afford to lose points at the stage of the season. None of the teams at the top is guaranteed of winning the league title. Ita��s a race to the last game of the season,a�? said Bantu Rovers head coach Johannes Ngodzo.
