QUEENSDALE residents yesterday woke up to the shock of their lives after they found the body of a man close to Queensdale Primary School.

The body had bruises and some residents believe the man was allegedly murdered. Residents who spoke to H-Metro were in disbelief.

“These kinds of incidents do not usually happen in this area, so it is quite shocking to wake up and find the body close to the school our children attend,” said one resident, Vernon Gore.

“We are not really sure as to what really happened but we just found the body close to the school and it was bruised.”

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“I can confirm that the police found a body of a man close to Queensdale School, the body was bruised,” he said.

“As of now, the police are still investigating the matter and more information will be released soon.”

Over 10 murder cases have been recorded countrywide in the past seven days. The latest case comes after the discovery of a body of a male adult, who was found dead at the Flyover along Seke Road,  near the Central Business District in Harare, on Sunday morning.

“Yes, the body of a male adult was found by two people who were passing by. There was blood on the shirt of the deceased so, as Police, we are carrying out investigations,” he said.

The body had deep cuts and bruises on the forehead.

There was a brick next to the body and those who were at the scene believe the deceased was an employee of a local tobacco company in Harare.

Meanwhile, ZRP Pfupajena Station in Chegutu is investigating circumstances surrounding a case of murder in which an unknown man died while admitted at Chegutu District Hospital.

His body was found at the Chegutu Shopping Centre with cuts and bruises last week. Last week, the nation was left in shock after the body of a 16-year-old boy was found stashed in a cooler box in Southlea Park, Harare, with his hands cut into pieces.
