A NEW Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) executive to be chaired by Tendai Charuka was ushered in following the associationa��s Annual General Meeting early February at Raylton Recreation Club.
The new executive will be in charge for the next two years.
Charuka, who is going to be deputised by Tawinei Nati of CSC,A� took over from the associationa��s former chairman Godfrey Kondo.
The Loungea��s Nkosi Gatsha assumed the secretary-general posts which was previously held by Raphael Mukucha.
The associationa��s new treasurer is Khayila Chirwa of Msindo who takes over from Godfrey Zinyakatira.
The post of publicity secretary is now being held by Farai Nyandoro (ABOVE) of Raylton. Nyandoro steps into the shoes of vibrant ex BPA spokesperson Donald Wadawu .
Kuda Shoko who turns out for Abangane is now the fixtures secretary for Division One Leagues. The Premier League fixtures secretarya��s post is now under Robin Goremucheche who plays for Masters.
The associationa��s seven committee members are Christine Sengwe (Masters), Mandlenkosi Makowa (Msindo), Flatta Moyo (ZPC), Roka Mbuva (Bangane), Philani Mlotshwa (Ace Club), Lucy Mpofu (Double Punch) and John Mahachi (Entumbane).
Asked about their goals for the next two seasons, Nyandoro said they want to serve to their best of abilities.
a�?We are looking forward to a fruitful term in office. We want to take the association to greater heights and with the Sports and Recreation Commission showing interest in backing our discipline. I think it will be ideal to work with the commission hand in glove. Soon there will be an establishment of Zimbabwe Pool Association and we are looking forward to becoming its affiliate,a�? said Nyandoro.
In his message targeted at BPA affiliates, Nyandoro emphasised on discipline and working together.
a�?BPA clubs should continue working together, lets remain a disciplined lot. Pool should be a family sport despite that it is mostly played in bars. We expect mature behaviour from everyone,a�? he said.
