ONE of the most successful Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services rehabilitation programme products, ex-convict and talented composer, Elton Bushe, will next month unveil his second album, Mwari Ngavakudzwe. Bushe has seemingly put his dark past under the wraps after he was jailed in 2008 for breaching the Precious Minerals Act.
He is out of jail now and has established himself into one of consistent local gospel singers who is inspired by life’s own experiences.
The forthcoming album, Bushe said, would carry songs such as “Mwari vanoziva”, “Handidi kukutadzirayi” and “Mwari ngavakudzwe”.
The talented vocalist features on ZPCS arts projects and Mansa’s two previous albums as a lead vocalist.
He recently played a critical role in helping the prison outfit to record their debut gospel project, Kunyepa.
“Work is in progress.
“Our forthcoming album will be ready by April. Fans’ support has kept us going despite financial problems attacking left, right and centre.
“I have become a better musician and fans should expect a more polished product this year. By the glory of God, I hope to start staging live shows this year,” Bushe said.
He is currently teaching performing arts at a private college in Marondera.
He is also supporting arts in prisons such as Marondera Farm Prison.
