YOU can now call him Professor Benza.
Ageless Herentals striker and owner, Innocent Benza, the oldest footballer in the domestic Premiership, has been honoured with an honorary professorship.
It was conferred by the International Institute of Philanthropy, IIP, in partnership with the International Women’s University.
Simba Bhora owner, Simba “Bhuju” Ndoro was conferred with an honorary doctorate.
The function was held in the capital last weekend.
The two were honoured for their services to football and the community.
Benza was singled out for his dedication to education, through his network of colleges, across the country.
He could not attend the ceremony, because of commitments with his club Herentals, who had a game against Whawha, on the same day.
His son, Tafadzwa, represented him.
In South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs boss Kaizer Motaung was also honoured with an honorary doctorate from the University of Cape Town.
He said the honour took him by surprise.
