Cde Ncube first hero laid to rest at Bulawayo Provincial Heroes Acre

THE first provincial hero to be laid to rest at the Bulawayo Provincial Heroes Acre in Nkulumane was Cde Vincent Mahuzu Ncube, who was buried on August 26, 1991.

Cde Ncube’s grave is among the 1 176 graves at the provincial shrine, which remains a place of remembrance for liberation war fighters and other cadres who made sacrifices for Zimbabwe’s independence.

His burial marked the beginning of the use of the Nkulumane shrine as the final resting place for provincial heroes.

The nation today marks the 46th Heroes Day commemorations, which will be led by President Mnangagwa at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, with Ministers of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution across the country presiding over provincial commemorations.
