CAPS United president, Farai Jere, says the club’s coach, Lloyd Chitembwe has the full backing of the boardroom staff and the Green Machine leadership.
Makepekepe are enduring their worst losing streak in which they have lost their last seven league matches.
They have failed to score in six of those seven games.
The misery has also led to divisions among the CAPS United fans with some calling for the head of Chitembwe while others are saying he is not to blame for the poor run.
Jere exonerated Chitembwe, insisting he remains the right man to turn around their miserable run of results.
“It will be unfair to point the blame on coach Lloyd,” he said.
“We are not going to read much into our previous seven games, it’s now water under the bridge.
“We will start counting from our next fixture as we believe our situation is now getting better in terms of motivating the players.
“The other thing is our camp is being struck by injuries, we have many players who are still on the recovery path and it’s a matter of time before they all return.”
He said sacking Chitembwe will do more harm than good to the club.
Early this season, Chitembwe penned a five-year deal with the club after they had lured him from Harare City.
“We all know his capabilities, he is a proven winner and, at this point, it’s just unfortunate that things are not going according to the plan due to the known reasons.
“It will cost us more if we part ways with him.
“We are not in a position to buy out his running contract.
“We just need to keep looking for ways to motivate our boys and I believe we are almost there, things are beginning to shape up.”
