TWO siblings are at loggerheads following a domestic violence dispute which they have failed to solve amicably at a family level.
The owner of Club Wandi, in Warren Park D, Tinashe Shupikai, has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against his brother, Takawira Shupikai.
Tinashe claimed Takawira was violent, as well as abusive, towards his family and also disturbs the peace at his club.
“My brother takes illicit beers and becomes violent.
“He assaulted my family and at one time beat up my wife.
“Takawira has no respect, he once entered my bedroom while I was sleeping naked, with my wife, and that is why I want him evicted from the premises,” the elder brother claimed.
He said Takawira regularly visits his club, disturbing the smooth running of business.
The duo stays at their father’s estate and their dad is still alive.
In his defence, Takawira claimed that Tinashe was the one who assaults him.
“He is just taking advantage that he is rich.
“My father, who is now 77, is actually complaining about Tinashe, who is not paying rentals or supporting him.
“I want to maintain, your Worship, the only issue which is troubling me is I am sleeping in the dining room where there is no privacy,” Takawira said.
Magistrate Sharon Mashavire ordered Takawira to seek help, about sharing of the rooms, from their father.
She also advised Takawira to maintain peace all the time and ordered him not to visit Club Wandi in Warren Park D.
However, Tinashe was warned not to evict his brother from their parents’ estate as he has no right to do so.
The protection order was granted in favour of Tinashe.
