ZIFA has released a coaching courses programme to be held in Bulawayo and Gweru starting at the end of the month which will target coaches from primary schools right up to gaffers aspiring to hold Caf A badges.

The courses will be conducted by local veteran instructors Gibson Homela and Benedict Moyo together with a Confederation of African Football (Caf) delegated instructor.

First on the calendar is a Caf C badge coaching course from 24 October to 7 November in Gweru which will cost $350 per participant.

From 26 October to 11 November coaches interested in attaining Zifa Level Four certificates will fork out $350 for the 15-day training course in Bulawayo.

Then from 7 November to 2 December coaches looking to attain Caf C and Caf B badges will be required to pay $600 per participant for each of the courses in the city.

Coaches working with primary school children are now required by Zifa to be holders of a grassroots qualification a a Fifa recognised course targeting young players from six years and above. Aspiring grassroots coaches will part with $100 for a local course that will run from 5 to 12 December.

The courses are part of newly appointed Zifa technical director Taurai Mangwiroas comprehensive coaching education programme which seeks to address key areas of football development.

For instance coaches are now required to ensure that they practise for at least a year after attaining a coaching qualification before proceeding to the next level.

The technical directoras office will ensure that all coaches are certified by the association and that no other establishment is allowed to issue or organise football coaching courses.

Zifa recently set a new benchmark for coaches that intend on working in the country from primary school level right up to Premier Soccer League and national teams level starting next year.

PSL coaches together with their assistants are required to be holders of Caf A badges together with Zifa Level 4 certificates. The same goes for national team coaches.
