A NUMBER of senior public officials have demonstrated their commitment to fighting corruption by signing the Integrity Pledge.
Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo, says the signing of the integrity pledges was important as it demonstrates a commitment to fighting corruption.
Justice Matanda-Moyo described the pledges as “a social contract that encourages personal integrity.”
She said this was in keeping with constitutional provisions designed to promote transparency, accountability, competence and financial probity in all institutions and agencies of Government at every level.
Public Service Commission chairperson, Vincent Hungwe, said the initiative required a “deliberate and intentional effort by all citizens.”
“To facilitate the achievement of zero tolerance for corruption, integrity pledges have been seen as one of the key measures to fight corruption through the promotion of high standards of ethical behaviour and good corporate governance as it heavily relies on voluntary individual oaths,” he said.
