AGAPE Foster Home is set to receive a 1000 square metre piece of land from the City of Kadoma.

The children’s home is currently housed at House Number 36, Mbizi Street, in Rimuka.

The Council’s pledge was made by Deputy Mayor, Alderman Michael Mvura, who was standing in for the mayor Nigel Ruzario.

“As the city fathers, we’ve heard a plea by those operating at a small space along Mbizi Street here in Rimuka.

“Their current residence is not suitable or meant to accommodate such a big number of occupants and the location is not proper.

“What we pledge at the moment is a thousand square metre piece of land to be used for the construction of a proper facility as the residence for the foster home.”

Christopher Vheremu, a representative of the foster home, said:

“The home used to accommodate 17 children at its peak last year. Some of them have since been moved to Tariro Children’s Home while three have reunited with relatives.”

The City of Kadoma has the biggest boarding school for pupils with learning difficulties in the province, Rubatsiro ZimCare Trust School.
