MORE VACCINES ARRIVE

1049: The plane carrying the Covid-19 Sinopharm vaccine has arrived at the Robert G Mugabe International Airport

1051: President Mnangagwa will receive the vaccine. Also present are VP Chiwenga, Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Min Murwira and Minister July Moyo among other senior Government officials.

1117: The consignment from Sinopharm includes 200 000 doses donated and 200 000 bought by the Government from Sinovac. The consignment comes four weeks after the first the arrival of the first vaccine.

1130: President Mnangagwa says Zimbabwe is making steady progress in the fight against Covid-19.  He says Zimbabwe is the first country to receive a second batch of vaccines from China.

1135: The President says the donation of vaccines for Namibia that came along with Zimbabwe’s vaccines will be sent to that country free of charge
