The Rotary Medicare doctors who were delegated to serve at Nyanga District Hospital during a 10-day mission were charmed by the health centre saying it was world class and well taken care of.Team leader Dr Ranjit Bhatia said they rarely have such community health facilities back in their country.
“You are blessed to have a very large complex like this here.
“It was well planned to suit almost all the medical requirements. The theatres are very large like those found in bigger city hospitals.
“The team that works here is humble, friendly, hard-working and committed.
“There is no smell here like what is normally in other hospitals.
“It’s like we are in a four star hotel,” said Dr.Ranjit.
“The weather here is even better than Scotland,” he added.
They also vowed to donate some machinery and medicines when they return.
“Our visit has been an eye opener on your needs at this hospital. We could have brought the machinery with us had we known your needs and we promise to donate equipment and medicines when we come again to Zimbabwe.
“Believe me, this place will never be the same again. There is nothing that will stop you from carrying out some sophisticated operations as you do have the facility,” he said.
Dr Ranjit thanked Cde Supa Mandiwanzira for his efforts to help the disadvantaged members of the community.
“We see that you have your people at heart.
“Every corner we go in this hospital people are chatting your name ‘Supa Supa Supa’.
“We thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve beyond our Indian borders.”
