ZIM hip-hop artist, F-malak, is releasing his EP dubbed ‘Malacrown’ today.
It has four singles, which include ‘Unstoppable’, ‘Dreams’, ‘Ishe’ and ‘Change’.
In an interview, F-malak said the EP was inspired by a time when he was facing financial struggles and abuse from people in the industry and in his personal life.
He said plans were currently underway to accompany every single on the EP with a video.
“This industry is very brutal. I never anticipated that people close to me could mock me when I was financially down.
“They expected me to quit my career but I used all that negativity as a source of motivation to create this whole piece.
“I also resorted not to feature any other artist on my EP because this is my struggle and I wanted my fans to simply relate with me and what I went through at a personal level.
“I’m grateful that I’m getting help to market this EP from some people behind the Zim hip-hop awards.
“It is truly amazing that when you’re at your lowest there are still people out there willing to help and that’s the spirit many other artists must adopt for our industry to be successful,” said F-malak.
