Farmer loses cabbages to heavy rains

A Lochinvar farmer lost a large portion of his plants to last week’s heavy rains.

Tafadzwa Kufazvineyi lost close to two thousand cabbage heads in Waterfalls after they were waterlogged.

Kufazvineyi is into horticulture, and grows watermelons and cabbages.

He said his piece of land had no water drainage.

“There is no drainage system, and this impacted my cabbages, as they couldn’t get nutrients due to waterlogging,” he said.

He said he had now dug side drains to allow excess water to flow of his field.
