Father Flower Group of Schools, in collaboration with the Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, will on today, host its Harmonised Speech and Prize Giving Day.
The event, running under the theme “Honouring the Founding of Father of Flower Group of Schools and its Continued Support and Commitment to Sustainable Development through Military Leadership Styles,” will also celebrate th acquisition of two brand-new luxurious Asiastar school buses, symbolising progress and innovation in educational transport.
Under the visionary leadership of director general Jimmy Lemekani-Waya, the founder of the Father Flower Group, the institution has expanded remarkably, now comprising four primary schools and three high schools in Kadoma, with two additional schools expected to open next year.
In an interview ahead of the event, director general Lemekani-Waya said the Harmonised Speech and Prize Giving Day reflects both gratitude and determination to shape a better future through education. “This celebration is not just about awards or new buses, it is a reaffirmation of our founding vision,” he said.
“We are building institutions that produce disciplined, creative, and purpose-driven learners capable of transforming their communities and the nation at large.”
He added that the group’s philosophy is anchored on the principle of holistic development, integrating academics, sports, and the arts to nurture balanced, confident and responsible young citizens.
“Our learners excel not only in the classroom but also on the sports field and in the arts arena,” said Lemekani-Waya.
“We believe education should touch the mind, body and spirit ,that’s how we create complete human beings ready for the demands of the modern world.”
Over the years, Father Flower Group of Schools has achieved outstanding success in national academic and sporting competitions, earning numerous awards for distinction and innovation.
The group continues to draw inspiration from military leadership styles, emphasising discipline, resilience, teamwork, and respect, values that have become the cornerstone of its identity.
The acquisition of the new Asiastar buses is part of the institution’s broader development strategy aimed at improving accessibility, comfort, and safety for learners. “Our learners deserve the best,” Lemekani-Waya said. “These buses are a testament to our commitment to excellence and to ensuring that every child under the Father Flower banner travels in safety and dignity.”
Saturday’s event is expected to draw government officials, local leaders, parents, and students, all coming together to celebrate the institution’s achievements and reaffirm its continued commitment to sustainable educational development in Zimbabwe.
