FOREVER Associates Zimbabwe has taken centre stage at this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, with its leadership saying the organisation aims to engage the public and address misconceptions surrounding its operations.
The 2026 edition of ZITF opened on Monday, marking the start of a week-long showcase of business, innovation and networking under the theme, “Connected Economies, Competitive Industries.”
FAZ is among a wide range of exhibitors participating in the annual exposition.
FAZ president, Mr Kudakwashe Munsaka, said the organisation is using the platform to interact directly with citizens and provide clarity on its activities.
“We are here to meet people, to have conversations with the people out there.
“Those with burning questions about Forever Associates Zimbabwe are free to engage with our volunteers and staff,” he said.
Mr Munsaka noted that the trade fair’s theme aligns with FAZ’s broader mandate of fostering competitive communities within an interconnected economy, in line with the country’s development agenda.
“That excitement compelled us to come and learn from other sectors while contributing towards Vision 2030 of an empowered upper-middle-income society,” he said.
He also dismissed claims that FAZ had disbanded following the 2023 harmonised elections, in which ZANU PF secured a decisive victory, describing such reports as unfounded.
“FAZ has never been disbanded. Over the past few years, we have been working closely with grassroots communities to ensure they play a key role in economic development,” he said.
“Our volunteers have remained active on the ground, consistently engaging communities. We have now shifted focus towards contributing to the mainstream economy by building industries and creating wealth for our members.”
Mr Munsaka said the organisation will soon roll out empowerment programmes aimed at supporting volunteers to initiate and sustain community-based projects.
Addressing perceptions that FAZ operates solely as an affiliate of ZANU PF, Mr Munsaka said the organisation’s scope extends beyond political mobilisation to include economic empowerment and business development.
“We acknowledge the role we played during the 2023 primary elections and campaigns.
“However, FAZ also has a responsibility to empower its members economically and promote business initiatives,” he said.
He said FAZ was exploring opportunities across various sectors through its holding company, with ongoing engagements at ZITF expected to yield partnerships and investment deals.
“Since Monday, we have seen significant interest at our stand. Our teams are also engaging other exhibitors as we pursue collaborations that will benefit our volunteers and the broader economy,” Mr Munsaka said.
