THE Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ) have urged the parties who were involved in the organisation and management of the Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2024 to find a resolution to the issues which marred the event.

This year’s show was marred by a number of challenges and Zimbabwe Fashion Week Trust Director Marshall Mutsamwira announced the cancellation of the remaining shows.

“It is with deep regret that Zimbabwe Fashion Week announces the cancellation of the remaining shows for the 2024 showcase following unexpected developments that arose after Day One’s events.

“Despite extensive planning and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience, factors beyond our control have necessitated this difficult decision,” he said in a statement.

More than ten brands. who were yet to showcase their stuff, were left in limbo.

Yesterday, the FCoZ said they were not involved in the event.

“The Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ) wishes to clarify that it was not in any way involved in the organisation or management of Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2024 that was scheduled to take place from 31 October to 3 November 2024.

“Zimbabwe Fashion Week is organised under the Hunhu Council of Fashion and is not affiliated with the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe.

“As part of our commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Zimbabwean fashion industry, FCoZ encourages all parties involved in the Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2024 to find a resolution to outstanding issues, both locally and regionally.

“At the FCoZ, we remain dedicated to supporting organisations that are focussed on initiatives which promote growth, sustainability, integrity and inclusivity within the Zimbabwean Fashion ecosystem.”
