THE love for wise waters ended badly for one Chikanga woman after she allegedly struck her drinking partner with a broken bottle on the head and left her bleeding profusely. Ketina Tipedze (28) of Gomorembira in Chikanga 1 denied assaulting Sarah Rumbidzai Mwachema when she appeared before senior Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sekai Chiundura.It was alleged that at around 2am on April 21 and at Douggies Nightclub, Tipedze approached the complainant and struck her with a broken bottle.
This resulted in the complainant bleeding profusely and sustaining two deep cuts, one on the head and another on her hand.
Tipedze denied the assault, saying the complainant wanted to tarnish her image.
“Your Worship, I know nothing about the assault. What I remember is that I was at the police station being accused of attacking her,” she said.
Tipedze was remanded out of custody on her own cognisant to May 6.
Mr Fletcher Karombe prosecuted.
