Five accident victims identified

POLICE have released names of five of the seven people who were killed when a Toyota Gaia veered of the road and hit them while they were attending to a broken down vehicle along Bulawayo-Harare highway on Friday night. The accident occurred at Kombo near Shangani at about 10PM where the seven were attending to a broken down vehicle which was reportedly being towed.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba identified the victims as Christopher Nkomo, 44, Nkosiyabo Nkomo, 22, Simbarashe Mbano, 26, Bukhosi Fuzayo, 25, Daniel Nkomo, 27 from Village 6 Kombo area in Insiza.

Snr Asst Comm Charamba said the other two’s names would be released after their next of kin have been notified.
She appealed to members of the public to always carry their national identity cards when travelling, to make it easier for police to notify their relatives when there has been an accident.
