MUTARE-BASED hip-hop artiste, David Mutanda aka Flexxo made it through to the finals of the Dream Star Zimbabwe last weekend.
Dream Star Zimbabwe is a talent search show launched last year as Zimbabwe got Talent by Chinese Federation of Zimbabwe in conjunction with ZLG and changed the name to Dream Star Zimbabwe this year. In this year’s edition, the winner will walk away with $5 000, while second and third runners-up will pocket $3 000 and $1 000 respectively. In addition to the monetary prize, about 25 artistes will have an opportunity to go to China for a cultural exchange.
The semi-finals were held during the weekend in Harare at Langchang Plaza.
Flexxo is keeping his fingers crossed and hopes to be among the top three. The finals will be held in the capital in two months time.
“I am confident that I will make it in the top three. I have realised that as an artiste I have really come out of age. I feel great to be the only one representing Mutare and I want to urge all other artistes not to give up on their dreams,” he added.
