GATHS Mine who have been on the road for the past two weeks, return to their favourite hunting ground, Gaths Mine Stadium where they face a rejuvenated Vumbachikwe in a Zifa Central Soccer League encounter today. The Mashava based asbestos miners come into the match following a one all draw against ZRP Beitbridge at Dulibadzimu last weekend.
Gaths Mine had suffered 0-2 defeat at the hands of Blanket Mine the previous week.
Gaths Mine secretary Collins Munemo however believes that their match will be the turning point.
“We have not been doing well of late but we are confident of turning things around especially considering that we are playing at home. It is unfortunate that we drew against ZRP Beitbridge in a match we were in control for the better part of the game.
“There are no injury worries in the camp and all our players are raring to go. We are promising our fans a positive result,” he said.
The asbestos miners who opened their account with an impressive 5-1 win over Chomumvuri Pirates only managed a single win thereafter and now lie 10th in the 14-team table.
Vumbachikwe’s morale is high after registering back to back wins against Nkayi United (2-1) and Chomumvuri Pirates (3-0).
The Gwanda based outfit secretary, Tofara Sibanda said the two games have given the side a stepping stone to launch their campaign which was off the rails from the beginning of the season.
In other matches Luke Petros-Jukulile will face his former paymasters when his Wha Wha outfit travels to Kwekwe for a date with Silo United at Mbizo Stadium.
