The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair’s Pavilion will be the place to be on November 23 as sneaker heads and fanatics attend the fourth annual Byo Sneakers Expo.
The much-celebrated event comes at a time when revellers from the City of Kings are gearing up for the festive season, and the expo is expected to automatically switch the mood to a merry temper.
International brands and sneakers from Nike, Adidas, Converse and Vans will be on sale at the expo.
The platform will also see local players like Stars 29, City of Kings Apparel and Hatipfeki Junk showcasing their customised products.

Byo Sneakers Expo publicist, Leroy Waps said the movement is all about celebrating sneaker culture and self-expression as the event brings together enthusiasts, collectors and creatives to showcase the beauty and diversity of sneakers.
He gave hype to the sponsors of this year’s event, who believed in the brand and made it possible for the expo to take place, even in challenging economic conditions.

“We are extremely happy that we are finally hosting this year’s edition of the Byo Sneakers Expo after several postponements, and we give thanks to local companies like Winning deSigns, Chaipex Trucking, Sound Kalcha, PES, Warrinaland, Bulawayo Exclusive Events and Value Gas who are sponsoring the event.
“Since day one, they believed in our vision and bought into the idea of running a lifestyle and culture event like this.
“We also have Mr Sinkwa who came on board and sponsored our weekly On Feet Friday competitions,” said Waps.
He said that this year’s edition has major improvements that will allow revellers to have a stellar experience, with one of the highlights of the event expected to be the Vans sneakers raffle, where lucky winners will go home with pairs of the brand.

“We are looking at conducting raffles that will keep attendees engaged. Last year, we had one raffle where people won Converse All Stars.
“This year, we have the same raffle, but it’s a Vans raffle.
“The VANS sneaker is growing in popularity and abroad, it has defined street wear culture and we are excited that in Zimbabwe, we are also catching up.
“We always hear talks of people wearing fake shoes, but they never know how to distinguish an original from a fake. In light of that, we will have a masterclass on how to legit-check your sneakers,” said Waps.
