THE Zimbabwean duo of Nothando Namuinesu and Litchel Mandiveyi had a successful outing at the 2024 International Pairs Golf Tournament World Finals in Tenerife, Spain where they finished fourth.
The talented duo, who are both informal businesswomen in Harare, represented Zimbabwe at the prestigious event a few days ago.
While they started playing golf as a leisure activity, Namuinesu and Mandiveyi defied expectations by winning a thrilling playoff to earn their spot to represent Zimbabwean and went on to finish tied on 4th with two other teams.

“We made it and finished tied on 4th place,” said Mandiveyi after the final round which took place on Thursday.
She said the preparations had been intense especially having to juggle with their lives but they were excited that they made it and made the country proud.
The tournament winners were the Portuguese pair of Miguel Heliodoro and Vitor Antonio.
In second place were Niklas Olsson and Viktor Olsson of Sweden while Devan Govender and Kris Venketas of South Africa were in third place.
Mandiveyi and Namuinesu were tied on 4th place with Aparecido Gabriel De Camargo and Cassio Soares of Brazil and Gerrie Naude and Nico Le Roux of South Africa.

They won their slot at the national finals that were held in Victoria Falls in the edition of the tournament that was sponsored by Sterling Group of Hotels in partnership with Albatross Golf Safaris and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).
The sporting event is one of the activities aimed at drumming up the brand Zimbabwe campaign and complementing the Vision 2030 drive, where sports tourism is one of the key vehicles.

The tournament seeks to promote sportsmanship, talent, and tourism within Zimbabwe by offering amateur golfers the chance to compete on a world stage. It was open to golfers from 90 percent of Zimbabwe’s clubs, making it the largest pairs’ tournament in the world.
The two started playing golf a few months ago and are members of Harare Royal Golf Club. They only became partners the week before the qualifying tournament for the Sterling Pairs Tournament and played together twice as a pair.
They were expected to land in Harare Monday evening.
