Hubby infects wife with HIV

A 42-year-old man from Mutasa has landed himself in trouble after he deliberately infected his teenage wife with HIV and Aids Wekezela Moyo of Number 37 Tsonzo is alleged to have infected his wife Tendai Ditima with the deadly virus. The accused tested HIV positive in 2009 at Mutare Provincial Hospital and was put on medication. He concealed her medication at his parents homestead where he would take them on prescribed times.

Accused also went on to lie to complainant that the medication he was taking was for his injured rib after Wekezela discovered that he was often taking pills. The complainant got sick several times and had a miscarriage in August 2014.

On October 20, she got sick and went to Mutasa Clinic where she tested HIV positive. She reported the matter to the police leading to accused’s arrest. However, the husband is denying the charges. This is despite proof from a state registered nurse at Jombe Government Health Centre stated that the accused tested positive sometime in 2009.

The case continues.
