Ingwebu’s PET plant creates jobs, stimulates economic growth – Minister Ncube

INGWEBU Breweries’ innovative investment in a Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plant, valued at over US$2 million, marks a significant milestone that motivates the Government to continue supporting the private sector,Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Bulawayo, Judith Ncube, has said.

Speaking after touring the new facility in Bulawayo, Minister Ncube highlighted that the plant has created numerous jobs and employment opportunities, contributing positively to economic growth in the region.

She emphasized that this development aligns closely with the key pillars of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).

“This strategic investment exemplifies Ingwebu’s spirit of innovation. It is a game changer that enhances operational efficiencies and reflects economic progress for the province,” the minister remarked.

Minister Ncube also acknowledged the capital-intensive nature of the project, which can place significant pressure on Ingwebu Breweries’ cash flows, but reassured that the Government remains ready to provide capital support to the private sector.
