IT’S the moment of truth for the Sables tonight.
This is the bridge they must cross for them to realise their dreams of a return to the Rugby World Cup.
They come up against their nemesis Namibia in their make-or-break semi-final showdown in Marseille, France.
The match starts at 9pm.
The Sables guaranteed themselves a spot in the semi finals when they beat Côte d’Ivoire 38-11 on Friday last week.
Sables coach Brendan Dawson says he’s happy with his boys ahead of the game.
“I’m really happy with the squad that we’ve got and happy with where we are,” he said.
“The side that we selected is a strong, powerful team and also the guys that will come on and try and finish the game, I think they’re really strong.
“I think, for the first time, we have got a powerful squad that can carry on and enhance what we are trying to achieve.
“I’m really happy with that.”
The winners of the eight-team knockout competition will return to France, next year, for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Whoever finishes as runners-up will still have a chance of qualifying for the Rugby World Cup, through the Final Qualification Tournament.
Zimbabwe are hoping to qualify for their first Rugby World Cup since 1991.
