MAINLINE FC, affectionately known as Iziratha, sent their fans into a frenzy after edging Megawatt FC 1–0 in a tense Zifa Southern Region Division One League clash at Dingumuzi Stadium in Plumtree on Saturday.
Thabo Sibanda was the hero of the day, slamming home the winner in the 16th minute to secure all three points for the home side.

Megawatt, formerly Hwange ZPC FC, huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser, but Mainline’s safe hands, Anxious Mutanda, pulled off a string of brilliant saves to keep them at bay.

Tempers flared in the second half, with Megawatt’s first assistant coach, Mthandazo “Skie” Nkala, earning himself a yellow card for dissent — adding to a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.
“We’re still trying to stabilise,” admitted Nkala after the match. “The boys played well, but we’ve got challenges with team cohesion.”

Despite both teams sitting on 18 points, Megawatt remain in 9th thanks to goal difference, while Iziratha climb to 10th with renewed hope.
Next up for Mainline is a showdown against Jordan FC. Will the momentum carry them forward?
