CAPS United assistant coach, Tonderai Marume, says midfielder Joel Ngodzo has not yet officially joined them.
Josta left his boyhood club Highlanders to try and get more game time elsewhere.
Reports have indicated he is on his way to the Green Machine.
“The culture at our club is that new players are unveiled officially, but these days, because of social media, certain things should not be taken seriously.
“We have many rumours about the team on social media, which are not true.
“Joel Ngodzo is not our player at the moment. We haven’t talked with him.
“But if need be, there is no reason we should not bring him here.
“He is a quality player and can improve our play.
“Those we have unveiled are the ones in our books and if anything changes, we will notify you.”
The coach said they’ve had smooth preparations for their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against giant-killers Whawha at Ascot tomorrow.
Whawha have shown resilience against the big boys at home.
They recently collected maximum points against Highlanders, Ngezi Platinum and Chicken Inn.
Marume said he was not fazed by Whawha’s giant-killing tag at home.
“We have a clean bill of health,” he said.
“The boys look focused and you can tell by the way they are working in training.
“We are pretty sure they are ready for the match,” said Marume.
He believes CAPS should be performing better than their recent struggles.
“Football is full of ups and downs. You have to accept that some spells are more difficult than others.
“What we have been going through now might look like a relief, but we feel we can do better than we are doing at the moment.
“Worldwide, when teams play at home, they utilise home advantage.
“When we play either at home or away, we prepare our team adequately to perform wherever we will be playing.
“Our focus is always to get the best results.”
Midfielder Devon Chafa is optimistic they will get a positive result at Whawha, and is expecting a huge turn out in support.
“We are optimistic we will have a good game against Whawha.
“Our performances have recently improved and we hope to continue improving.
“We are CAPS and everywhere we go, we have supporters, so we are not bothered.
“The Whawha match will be just another game at home but away from home,” Chafa said.
