ZIFA board aspirant, Kudzai Kadzombe, took her campaign to the Southern Region this weekend, where she outlined her vision for Zimbabwean football.

Addressing Eastern Region football stakeholders in Masvingo on her first stop on her campaign tour on Saturday, Kadzombe’s messsge to them was premised on the need for grassroots development, improved governance, and increased investment in the sport.

“I told them that we need to focus on developing our youth, our women’s football, and our community programs,” Kadzombe revealed to B Metro in an interview.

“I also spoke about we need to provide the resources, support, and infrastructure that our young players need to succeed.”
In much the same vein when she met with Southern Region councillors, Kadzombe also highlighted the importance of improving governance and transparency within the association.

“We need to ensure that our association is run in a professional, efficient, and effective manner,” he said.

The and Eastern and Southern Regions are a key battleground in the ZIFA elections, with influential football stakeholders based in the region.

Kadzombe’s campaign has gained momentum in recent weeks, with many observers tipping her as a strong contender for a seat on the board.

The ZIFA elections are scheduled to take place on January 25.
