Late national hero Chikerema’s son dies

The first-born son of the late national hero James Chikerema, Douglas, has died.
He was 58.

He succumbed to kidney cancer yesterday in Botswana where he was seeking treatment. His young brother Patrick confirmed his death and said his body is expected to arrive in the country today.

Mourners are gathered at his farm at Kutama Division, Musengezi.

He was a cattle breeder.

Douglas is survived by his wife and four children.
