PROPOSING love to underage girls and bedding them a�� even with the consent of the minor a�� is a serious offence under the laws of Zimbabwe with offenders often sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
For a Cowdray Park 16-year-old minor, her worst nightmare is not just being pursued by an older suitor.
The minora��s name (withheld for legal reasons) suitor is a woman.
The woman, Nolthando Nkomo, an 18-year-old self-confessed lesbian, is also a Cowdray Park resident. In fact, the two are known to each other by virtue of residing in the same neighbourhood.
To lure her a�?catch-to-bea�? Nkomo allegedly sent sexually explicit pictures of herself lying on a bed. After the pictures, she followed up with a barrage of messages on WhatsApp declaring undying love to the 16-year-old.
Nkomo had no qualms telling B-Metro she is a lesbian.
a�?I am a lesbian and yes I did send the pictures and the messages to the girl,a�? Nkomo declared in a telephone interview.
She went on to shock this reporter.
a�?Please be serious and stop lying to me. I dona��t believe you are a reporter. Just tell me the truth. Do you have a girlfriend? Are you looking for a girlfriend because we can work out something,a�? she said.
She dared to send lewd pictures to the reporter.
a�?Just tell me what you want because the pictures you saw are nothing. I am even shocked you are asking me about sending those pictures to that girl because I have more seductive pictures,a�? she added.
The shocked minor, who still has not gathered the guts to report the lesbiana��s advances to her parents, said Nkomo had long started pestering her about trying out a�?what it feels like to be in love with another girl.a�?
a�?I know Nolthando since we stay in the same neighbourhood and I have always regarded her as a sister until she started sending me messages on WhatsApp saying she has feelings for me,a�? said the minor.
As if sensing that her advances were hitting a brickwall, Nkomo turned to sending the minor sexually explicit nude pictures.
a�?She then started sending nude pictures of herself almost naked sitting on the bed. Can you imagine receiving seductive pictures from another girl? I was shocked, I dona��t even know why she targeted me,a�? she said.
She pleaded with this publication to protect her identity.
a�?Ia��m afraid to tell my parents because they could think that Ia�?m also a lesbian and they will bury me alive. I beg you please do not reveal my name,a�? pleaded the minor.
A Cowdray Park resident also accused Nkomo of being involved in numerous sexual relations with married men.
a�?People in Cowdray Park do not know what to do with her because she seduces other womena��s husbands,a�? said the source.
Same sex relationships and marriages are illegal in Zimbabwe.
